Look at the beautiful stream! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is for the *Taken-by-dragons World of Dragons Contest. [link] This 10+ project was done in more of a storybook coloring with a different kind of shading than I usually do. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The majestic Geyik is evolved from an Asian Lung Dragon to fill the niche that deers take in the real world. They lay single eggs that look like pearls that the female carries in her horns (males and females both have horns) if she needs to move it. They are fleeter of foot than any mortal creature, but those who prey upon them can rival their fleetness with their stealth. The forest's top predator is the Anca. They have a feline build similar to a panther and wings that cannot keep them up for long. One of their favorite tactics is to run their favorite prey, the Geyik, into a deep lake or over a cliff. Though the Geyik has some levitation powers left over from their heritage, they can only stop themselves from not dying from a fall. The Anca uses the time it takes them to float down to attack. But not all creatures have lost their ability to fly. Hummingdracos are small flying dragon. As the name hints, they are similar to hummingbirds as they feed on nectar. They are usually diurnal, but these two seem to be too distracted to notice. Origins of the hummingdracos are not certain, but they have characteristics of both faerie and feathered dragons. The hummingdracos are not the only ones that are flying this night. Dragonlites are the small faerie dragons that flit around on their insectiod wings. As they are nocturnal, they have to hide out and sleep during the day. Their tails are the secret to their success. Most of their tail is shaped and colored just like a pine cone! Their pine cone-shaped tails emit a yellow glow from where the seed should be in a real pine cone, but only when they will it. The gray-toned streaks that decorate the rest of their body are unique to the individual. ~ After the sudden changes in weather that killed all other creatures, the world settled back to its preindustrial state. It's clear of most of the pollution, and the rest is eaten by sludge dragons. The natural elements themselves last longer than during mortal times. Also there are dragon ents that keep the long-lasting trees healthy and safe. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gayik, ancas, hummingdracos, dragonlites, and art by Sketched on paper. Inked and colored on SAI. Thanks to Pyrite and my mum who both got me SAI at about the same time. D:~♥ I may put more info up. Ask any questions if you have them! EDIT: I fixed the leaves, trunks of trees, and added rocks under the water. The first two took shorter than they could thanks to short cuts suggested thanks to Elestra. ( I should have thought it, but my chem midterm-fried brain doesn't work right now. D: ) The stones took the longest, and are not easily seen. Makes me happy though. Comments
DRAGONLITES FTW
oh it's so cool Bell *A* I'd just make the back trees a bit darker o3o -- Yes, I meant that in a sexual way. =Viterai owns this biotch icon by =Anarchpeace I'm so glad you like it!
Uuuugh ok. I stupidly put the base colors and the woodgrain detail on the same layer. I shall have to correct that though... -- <{o,o}>~♥ ^(,,,,)^ |||| |||| \oo_oo/===> Icon by =Neltruin. lol I make mistakes like that >_>
I luv the pinecone tail lol -- Yes, I meant that in a sexual way. =Viterai owns this biotch icon by =Anarchpeace We all do it all the time...
I need to post my sketches of them hanging on branches. Their cuuute.♥ -- <{o,o}>~♥ ^(,,,,)^ |||| |||| \oo_oo/===> Icon by =Neltruin. wow..this entry is amazing <3 I just love how the Geyik reaches out and grabs your attention right away in this piece, your attention is drawn away from the stalking Anca in the trees and the hummingdracos, I didn't see for a moment there =], the dragonlites i at first only saw the one at a quick glance but then I started to look a little harder and there they where. he stories about each different dragon are very interesting,as apposed to just planely stating facts you really brough the characterisics of the dragons out. <3
