Avian Leap Frog-Contest Entry

Nailmus yawned as he watched Cain and Ripha play their game that they called “leapfrog.” They weaved around his body emitting squeals of delight as they jumped over each other. Whenever they missteped onto him he would give them a low noise of warning more so that they learned manners rather than that he was actually mad at them. But quite too often in Nailmus’s mind did they fall, but they seemed unfazed-actually they seemed to like it as they squealed louder as they did so. Nailmus shook his head and stood up. He didn’t get the young ones.

Just as Nailmus had shook his head, two red forepaws collided with the back of his skull, sending the older Avian’s head to the hard ground.

Oooh that was it- he was going to get them. He tore after them, making them squeal louder.

Remind me exactly why I decided to go into this much detail? *dies* Actually, I reeeaaaally like it. I added more detail (such as the scales)than I usually do, and I think I will experiment more with that level of detail more. It’s fun in the it’s-so-painful-yet-I’m-so-mesmerized-that-I-can’t-stop way. But all-in-all it was worth it, no matter if I get the prize or not. It was extremely fun, and I’m glad I did it. (Besides, 15+ commissions if one wins- What would I ask for? D8>

Ok anyhow, I think I got everything right here. I stared at the anatomy and I think I fell close. I hope. :/ It was kinda hard to keep both the action lines and anatomy both on track. I hope it’s at least a bit obvious that the two little ones are playing. (It is, right? RIGHT? D: )

I have to admit the jewels, although almost speedpainted into the work, look a bit out of place but look cool despite that. I’ve never really done large jewels on Psd before. I need to try to draw my fate towers now. *ponders*

As for the story, methinks I’ve read too much Sesshoumaru fanfiction lately. I’m guessing Nailmus isn’t as grumpy as well as the growling (which is WAAAAY overdone in Sesshy fanfics). Oh well, I guess I’ll just have to go read some more.

BTW, I just realized-I made Ripha almost not cute. Don’t go away my cute abilities! D8 ilu come back!

EDIT2: So I didn't win, but no tears about it. I'm glad I did this. Of course, I did want to win something just because being acknowledged is a good feeling, but I'm definately not going to cause drama, for those who won deserved it. ^^ So hats off to the winners!
